Schenk & Bruetsch PLC advises candidates for public office, elected officials, political action committees (PACs), and advocacy organizations on matters relating to Michigan’s campaign finance laws. Founding partner Thomas P. Bruetsch heads this area of the firm’s practice.

We help clients navigate registration issues, contribution limits and financial disclosure and reporting requirements, as well as ensuring their compliance with expenditure rules enforced by the Michigan Department of State and the Federal Election Commission (FEC). We advise clients regarding political advertising compliance, independent expenditures, and avoiding improper coordination with outside entities. We also represent clients in audits, investigations, and enforcement proceedings involving alleged violations of campaign finance law.
