Savana S. Ciavatta is an associate with Ottenwess, Taweel & Schenk, PLC where she focuses her practice on commercial litigation and municipal law.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ciavatta was an associate attorney with a prominent law firm in Macomb County. There, she practiced municipal law, defending cities and townships in both federal and state court. Additionally, Ms. Ciavatta also practiced commercial litigation.
Ms. Ciavatta graduated at the top 10% of her class with magna cum laude distinction from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. She was managing editor of UDM’s Law Review and a junior member of Moot Court. Ms. Ciavatta received numerous book awards for her academic accomplishments in Contracts I, Civil Procedure I, Constitutional Law, Advanced Advocacy, Access to Justice, Bankruptcy, and Litigation Technology. In addition, she attended law school on an academic scholarship, receiving a full ride fellow scholarship for all three years.
Ms. Ciavatta completed her undergraduate studies at Oakland University where she majored in communications and minored in journalism. She graduated from the honors college with magna cum laude distinction. Ms. Ciavatta initially pursued a career as a TV reporter. She eventually found her way to law school after covering a big trial that made headlines in Michigan.
